GeekLink for Windows is now live with the full subtitle workflow. If you joined the Windows waitlist, download GeekLink 0.4.5 for Windows to use speech recognition, hardcoded subtitle OCR, AI translation, subtitle editing, batch export, and burn-in on a PC.
Version Note
There are two Windows milestones here. GeekLink 0.4.4 was the first Windows release, but it only covered hardcoded-subtitle OCR. It let Windows users extract burned-in subtitles from video frames, but the rest of the subtitle pipeline still belonged to the Mac build.
GeekLink 0.4.5 is the release that completes the Windows version. Speech recognition, OCR, AI translation, subtitle editing, batch export, and subtitle burn-in are now available in the Windows build.
What's Included in 0.4.5
The Windows build now covers the same core jobs subtitle creators use GeekLink for on Mac: import videos, generate subtitles from speech, extract subtitles that are already burned into the picture, translate subtitle text, review the timeline, and export SRT files or finished videos.
Recognition and OCR run locally on your PC. AI translation requires internet access because it uses cloud language models, but the video file itself stays on your computer.
Why Windows Now
GeekLink started on Mac because we wanted a local desktop workflow for subtitle creators instead of another upload-to-cloud converter. But a lot of subtitle production happens on Windows machines too, and many people joined the waitlist specifically to ask for a PC build.
Now Windows users can use the full GeekLink workflow directly instead of switching machines or stitching together separate transcription, OCR, translation, and export tools.
Tell Us What Breaks
The Windows build is new, so we want the sharp edges quickly. If something fails to launch, a video does not import, speech recognition or OCR misses obvious text, translation behaves unexpectedly, or export differs from what you expected, reply to the launch email or contact us through the site.
We will prioritize problems that block the end-to-end subtitle workflow: installation, import, recognition, OCR accuracy, translation, review, and export.
